My first step in preparing for a newborn session is selecting the colour tones I want to work with. This can be incredibly time consuming, and sometimes takes 2-3 hours to fully prepare all props. For me, it’s time very well spent, as the cohesive flow of tones throughout a session is so important to me. Not only for the overall look of the session, but also because the majority of my clients select an album to showcase their newborn, and if you don’t have a flow, that’s when it becomes evident.
These grey and brown tones have become a fast favourite of mine. I just love how they swallow the shadows and help to enhance that soft light. When paired with the beauty of this precious baby boy, I mean seriously, my eyes are filled with hearts!!
He is such a dreamboat!! I could have photographed him all day long! He slept almost entirely through the session and allowed me to trudge along, prop to prop, without so much as a stir from him. It was wonderful from a session standpoint, however, I was totally not ready to let him go when his session came to an end. Our snuggle time was short, but seriously sweet!
Thank you so much Mom and Dad, for sharing your darling newborn boy with me for a few short hours. I very much enjoyed our time together and hope you did as well!
Enjoy your peek!
