Remember that 365 challenge I told you about back in December ~ well, I’m 60 days in so far, and I’m loving it!
There is nothing easy about it, nothing at all, it’s definitely a challenge, but one that I’m embracing with wide open arms.
And so……a little peek of January.

He broke all records and left me in complete shock. I have never, in all my days as a newborn photographer, worked with a baby quite as content as him!
I’m sure you must be wondering what kind of records he broke, so let me fill you in…..
~ we completed his session in a matter for 1.5 hours! Crazy, totally crazy, and let me explain why for those of you that have yet to work with me. Newborns typically take around 3-4 hours to photograph, as they tend to wake or stir through the movement of props/poses, or they’re simply just hungry and want to stop to eat. Not this little guy, he had no desire to eat while posing and had the slightest of stiring between prop changes.
~ we managed to use a huge variety of props and poses in this short period of time as well.
~ and your not going to believe this one, his big sister of 2.5 years joined in and snuggled with her precious baby brother, not once, not twice, but three different times….unreal!! (I should note before you scroll down to drool over the images that big sis is not featured on the sneak peek. Those are moments to be saved for mom and dad’s gallery).
Mom and Dad, if this isn’t a sign that your children should be models I don’t know what is. The both of them are every photographers dream, and I’m absolutely thrilled that I had the extreme pleasure of working with the two of them!

Victory ~ it’s the meaning behind this little beauties name and so very, very fitting. She is a victory!!!
Not only do I love to photograph these brand new people, I also love to hear the stories of how they entered this amazing world. This beauty had the odds against her from early on in the womb, thankfully she fought those odds and was born a perfectly healthy baby girl.
It never ceases to amaze me the amount of love that we have for our babes before we’ve even met them. The extreme lengths that her parents went through to ensure a healthy baby are rather incredible and inspiring. It just goes to show how full of love they really are.
Thank you for sharing your story with me Mom and Dad! It has left me with feelings of courage and happiness.

Oh goodness me, this little guy is so incredibly precious!
He’s inherited his mommy’s sweet & calm demeanour too ~ which just adds to his preciousness!
While he spent a good portion of the session awake, he was so calm and cool, and I must admit I loved having that extra snuggle time.
It was so wonderful to meet your precious babe at such a magical time of year ‘Mom & Dad’. I can not thank you enough for entrusting me with your forever memories of your babes first days.

It’s no easy challenge, that’s for certain, but this year I’m doing it and I’m excited!
The challenge is this ~ take 1 image, every day, for 365 days of the year. Sounds easy enough right, but in actuality it’s really very difficult. I started my challenge on December 1st, 2014 knowing that if I made Jan 1st, 2015 the start date, I would more than likely fail, yes my mind works in very strange ways.
I’ll try not to bore you with all my daily images but I thought it might be a good incentive to share a few squares of my life on the monthly. Keep myself accountable so to speak!
And with that, I give you 12 squares of December
