Warm sunsets & wintery views | Hamilton Family Photographer

There is so much to love about this session, from the scenery and sunset, to the people and their playfulness!

It was a warmish Fall afternoon, one hour before sunset and we had just been dealt a winter storm a few days prior.  The mix of the warm sunset and wintery views was a beautiful combination, one that had us all oohing and awing at the beauty that surrounded us!  I’m pretty sure we all felt lucky to have been given this gorgeous day for their session.  Rather then me use my words to explain the beauty, I’d suggest you take a scroll down and see for yourself 🙂

I hope you love your peek guys!  Thanks for being such a fun crew to work with!!

Seasons | Oakville Family Photographer

Here in Ontario we have 4 seasons ~ Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter ~ I know, pretty lucky right!  Each season is beautiful and inviting for it’s own different reasons, but let me tell you, these seasons change like the flip of a switch, at least they did this year.

I was in the midst of my Fall family sessions when we got a huge layering of snow, which buried many fallen leaves, and left a white blanket over everything, and while many were complaining and grunting at the weather I was thrilled for the sudden change in scenery!

We had this session booked for weeks in advance and never did I imagine that there would be snow covering the field, but man oh man did it ever make for some beautiful images!  It’s not only the scenery that makes the images beautiful though, it’s also this gorgeous family!!  What troopers they were, tracking through the deep snow, fighting off the cold temps, all the while making each other laugh and pausing for some hot apple cider in the sleigh.

It was a session that I certainly won’t be forgetting any time soon thanks to these awesome, fun loving parents and their sweet babes!  What a pleasure to meet and photograph the four of you!  I can’t thank you enough for allowing me the pleasure of capturing your family.  I look forward to working with you again, in a different season, for a different vibe 🙂

Enjoy your peek!

New faces | Burlington Family Photographer

That blog title may have you scratching your head a little, thinking, what in the world is there to say about new faces?  Well, not much actually, but there is the fact that it’s just so nice to meet new people and see some new faces!

These clients are new to me, as I am to them.  While that can be daunting at times, (the idea of meeting a fresh new bunch of people) this family felt like old friends to me!  You may be wondering, why would meeting new people feel daunting?  So, let me clarify that, as a photographer it’s your job to make your clients feel comfortable enough around to show love and affection towards their family members.  It may sound like a super easy thing to do, but really think about your first meeting with people.  Are you the type that has no problem loving on your family in front of new people, or does it take you a few meetings to open up a little?

I always thought I was the type of person that takes a while to warm up to people, by a while I mean like 4-5 meetings, but the more I work with new people the more I’m realizing, maybe I’m not that kind of person at all.  Or maybe it’s the fact that I feel so comfortable with children, and that’s who I mainly focus on during my sessions.  Either way, I’m finding it easier and easier to meet new people and have them feel a comfort level with me pretty fast.  It’s kinda awesome actually, to know that I make people feel comfortable.  Hmmm, the more I write my thoughts on this the bigger the smile on my face becomes.

Anyways, enough about me and my thoughts!  I mentioned earlier that this family felt like old friends and they most certainly did.  We had a lovely time chatting and getting to know each other while they simply enjoyed each others company and soaked all the kisses and snuggles that their children offered them.  It was a melt worthy morning in deed, and I thank you for that Mom and Dad!

I hope you love this peek and I hope you were as comfortable with me as I was with you!

Candid Family | Kitchener Family Photographer

Every time I’ve worked with this family it’s been in a very candid manner.  From in home lifestyle sessions where we jumped on the beds and sat on the counter tops eating cake, to outdoor playful sessions, were we made bullrushes explode and ran up and down the bridge.  No matter what we’re doing we always have so much together!

While we captured a huge variety of candid moments and interactions together, I also posed them a couple of times throughout this session, and for us, I think that was a first.  When I browse through all the beautiful images from their session I absolutely love the posed photographs, however, it’s still the unposed images that speak to me the most.  They’re the ones that truly show this family’s loving ways.

Regardless of whether I capture them candidly or pose them casually, this photographic bunch always leave me with a massive smile on my face, and for that I thank them, each and every one of them!

I hope you love this session just as much as the others we’ve captured together.  May the images remind you of the love you have for each other and the sweet ways that you show that love.

Playful | Brantford Family Photographer

One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give to anyone heading into a family session is to be playful.  Now I know this can be difficult, especially if it’s your first time working with a photographer, because you don’t quite know each other yet, your unsure if you’re going to come off looking silly in your photos, and so on, but let me tell you, the playful interactions is what’s going to bring a true smile to your children’s faces.  Also, these are the moments that are certain to make your heart melt when you look back on them years down the road, when your child is grown.  I can guarantee you that!

This was my first time working with this gorgeous family and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how open and  playful they were with me.  It’s given me an absolutely huge variety of images to cull through, and no, that’s not a bad thing, not at all.  It just means that this family is going to have a rather large gallery to select from.  Not only that but the fact that they’re all so beautiful,  I swear I don’t have one bad photo from the bunch!

I can’t thank you enough Mom and Dad, for allowing your personalities to shine through during your session, for being playful with your beautiful baby girl, and for allowing me the pleasure of capturing all this sweetness!

I hope you love the images so far and I look so forward to sharing your full gallery with you soon.
