It sounds pretty effortless doesn’t it, “candid” family photography?!
You tend to think fun, interactive, playful families that don’t require any direction. And while that’s the look that I always aim to produce during my family sessions, it’s not always effortless or entirely candid.
It can often be quite a challenge to capture these candid interactions. You see, not a families have that instinct to be affectionate during a photography session. I’m certain it’s because we’ve been directed from a young age to ‘look at the camera, okay, now smile’. Believe me, we hear it often as young children and it simply becomes engrained in us over time.
This family has certainly helped me nail the effortless look of candid family photography!! Maybe it’s because they’re comfortable working with me at this point, or maybe they’re just that fun loving type of people. Either way, their affection and playfulness made for an absolutely beautiful session.
I hope you adore these images of your most favourite people Mum!! The 4 of you were so much fun to document! May these images always remind you of the fun loving Mum that you are!
