My focus during my family sessions is always on your family ~ the way you interact with one another, the snuggles you share, the expressions that you show. None of it is forced, or asked for, it is simply you, being you, surrounded by the people that you love most.
I know this may sound a little odd to hear coming from a photographer, but, my least favourite photographs are the ones were everyone is looking at the camera and smiling ~ it’s simply the truth. I will always be sure to capture a few of everyone looking in one frame, as most people think this is what they want when booking a session. However, I kid you not, those are the images that are rarely selected, and for good reason. When you look at them in comparison to unposed and candid images, they just feel stale, and forced, and everything we don’t want to be.
This beautiful family had no problem staying natural in front of the camera. I directed them solely on which direction to face in order for the light to hit them in the most flattering way, the rest……that’s all them! A fun, loving, caring, deep rooted family that I very much enjoyed spending time with on this gorgeous summer morning.
I thank you very much for allowing me the pleasure of capturing your precious family Mom and Dad.
