That Hair | Burlington Newborn Photographer

I can’t stop gushing over this precious babes hair, both while she was in the studio and all through the editing process, I’ve been swooning.  Quite possibly the most gorgeous head of hair I’ve seen.  And the feel of it, like a baby chicks hair, incredibly soft!  I could not stop running my fingers through it, and she loved it, absolutely loved it!  Any time she would start to stir that’s what I did, and it lulled her right back to sleep.

She loved to be wrapped up, and I’m not one to mess with something that someone likes, and so, she stayed wrapped, and happy, for her entire session.  For me, I usually go into a session with all of these wonderful ideas in my mind of how the session is going to play out, but these babes, they’re all different, and simply have a plan of their own.  The challenge is to just go with the flow, keep them happy and content and that’s exactly what we accomplished along with a gorgeous gallery.

It was so lovely to have your sweet girls in the studio Mom.  I loved how at home they felt here and I truly enjoyed your company!

Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of photographing them!

Sweet Slumber | Toronto Newborn Photographer

To say I’m obsessed with grey, well, that would be on point!  I haven’t used it in my work in quite some time but after this session I am completely head over heels for the tone once again.

What’s even cooler, Mom and Dad arrived dressed in grey and cream, and we didn’t even discuss colour choices……in sync or what?!?!?!?

This beautiful little guy was an incredible sleeper and such a treat to have in the studio!  Yes, he stirred through the prop movement but quickly feel back into his sweet slumber.  He was comfortable, content, and just the cutest!!

What I enjoyed most about his session is that he held out on showing his beautiful smile until the moment he was placed in his mommy’s arms.  Now that can’t be a coincidence ~ he was happy, and he showed it!

Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of meeting and photographing your baby boy!  May he continue to exude his super calm demeanour for all to enjoy!!

Thoughtful | Hamilton Family Photographer

The thoughtfulness behind this session is so incredibly sweet!  It took a lot of planning and even some sneaking around to pull this off, but we did it, and it was so very worth it!

You see, these two handsome young men are brothers.  Very sweet brothers I may add!!  Their parents were coming upon their 25th wedding anniversary, and their mom had been requesting images of her boys for years at this point.  Having been contacted by their Aunt to set up all the details, we discussed clothing, location, and ways to keep it quiet ~ we then met up for the shoot.

It was awkward, for all three of us, in the beginning.  For me because I don’t typically work with the older ‘kids’.  My subjects are typically much, much younger.  And for them because, well, what young adult doesn’t feel awkward in front of the camera.  It didn’t take long though, honestly, maybe 5 minutes and we all seemed to relax.  Another 5 minutes in and we were all laughing, being ourselves, and just having a great time.

Still, weeks later, when I look at these images, I smile and laugh ~ they left an imprint on me…of happiness!

You’re both so incredibly funny!!  Thank you for all the laughs, and for making your parents wishes come to reality.  I hope you like the images and feel they are ‘instagram’ worthy for your feed 😉

November | Burlington Lifestyle Photographer

It’s December 1st today, do you know what that means………..I’ve officially completed my 365 challenge!!

I’ve done it ~ finished, fini, terminado, acabado ~ man does that ever feel good to say!!

Believe me, there were days were picking up my camera felt like a huge task in itself, you know those days were you just don’t even want to lift a finger, ya those!  But I did.  Some days it was with the use of my handy dandy iPhone, but most days I used my trusty old Canon 5D Mark II, which I’ve gotta tell ya, has taken quite a beating from all the use.  Maybe my treat for completing the task should be a new camera 😉

If you’ve been considering trying this challenge, whether you are an amateur, a professional, or just have a love of photography and documenting your childrens lives, or even just your every day surroundings, I highly recommend this challenge.  It is most definitely that ~ a challenge ~ but one that is so very rewarding in so many ways.  It really can’t be put into words, you have to simply experience it for yourself.

Since this is my last month I thought I might share every image from this past month.  It was a busy one, it always is with two young children!

And so, in closing, our entire month of November………

Mommy

ps ~ if you plan on trying this challenge I would love to follow along with your experience, so please do send me a note.

pps ~ the date and time stamping technique I’ve used are simply my way of keeping track of days, and also, more importantly, what the light was offering at certain times of day….it helps

Happiness | Georgetown Family Photographer

What is your happiness?

For this stunning Mom I think it’s rather clear to see that her happiness, is her children!!!  And vice versa I may add.  It’s like all three of them have stars in their eyes for one another.  The way big brother hugs and kisses his baby sister is just the sweetest.  And the way Mom laughs at her son being a crazy silly young man ~ those moments are filled with happiness!

I love working with you three beauties ~ so photogenic, so happy, and so full of life!

Thank you for allowing me the pleasure!
