It’s not only a photoshoot, it’s also a workout, ha ha ha! I’m only half kidding when I say that too!!
Working with young children means a lot of running around, a lot of laughter, and a lot of energy. It can sometimes be hard for the parents to watch, as in their eyes all they’re seeing is rambunctious kids running around. I get it, I might get a little anxious too.
I’m here to let you know that this is ALWAYS how these sessions play out. I really need to remind parents at the beginning of every session that this is how I work; we run around, we discover our surroundings, and while it may look like absolute chaos at time’s, I need to assure the parents that I’m capturing the moment, I’m capturing the happiness on their faces, I’m capturing those candid interactions!
There’s a hashtag that I use often when sharing on social media, it’s #letthekids meaning let the kids be who they are, let the kids have fun, let the kids burn their energy, for at the end of the session I assure you, every kid will be tired out, they will want Mom and Dad to pick them up, to snuggle them close, and that my dear friends is when the family magic really happens.
I loved chasing these two beautiful babes around!! I loved how much fun they were having running up and down that open space, and most of all I loved how they snuggled close to Mom at the end of our time together. Thank you for trusting in me to document your children in a candid unposed manner. While I know it seemed chaotic during our time together, I hope these images tell a different story.
