Yesterday I spent the day at the zoo, and when I say “the day” I mean the entire day. We were there for 8 hours and didn’t get a chance to see all of the exhibits. I think that had a little bit to do with me standing by each exhibit for at least 10-15 minutes waiting for the animals to do something, whether it be lick their paws, scratch their backs, or simply play with a piece of wood.
I just love the zoo and most of all the amazing animals that are kept there. Yes, it is quite sad that these animals are kept in cages but it still amazes me to see them so close up. It is a wonderful learning opportunity for children as there are signs with information on them all along the way so maybe there is a benefit to it, although it is a small one compared to their freedom.
I would love to get a season’s pass to the zoo and go once a week, pick an animal, and just sit there all day and watch how that particular animal spends their day, that to me would be FUN.
I’m already looking forward to my next trip to the amazing Toronto Zoo.
